BSEK announces matric science exam 2024 results

  KARACHI – The Karachi Board of Secondary Education on Friday announced the annual results for the Matric Science exams for the year 2024. This year, 163,012 candidates registered for the Science Group exams, 162,026 appeared, while 933 candidates were absent, and 29,455 were declared unsuccessful. In the Science Group, Hafiz Abdul Rafay, son of Tariq Mahboob, roll number 310773 from Delhi Government Boys Secondary School, Karimabad FB Area, secured the first position with 94.55% marks. Similarly, Rumeesa Imran, daughter of Muhammad Imran, roll number 453587 from Al-Khalil Model School, Shamsi Society Malir Halt, secured the second position with 94.27% marks, while Rukhsar, daughter of Abdullah, roll number 432054 from Little Folks School, Block F, North Nazimabad, secured the third position with 93.18% marks. SC nullifies Article 63-A verdict on lawmaker’s voting freedom

  ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court on Monday invalidated its 2022 ruling on Article 63(A) of the Constitution, which restricted lawmakers from opposing the party directions while voting in the parliament. A five-member bench headed by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa and comprising Justices Amin-ud-Din Khan, Jamal Khan Mandokhail, Mazhar Alam Khan Miankhel, and Naeem Akhtar Afghan, who replaced Justice Munib Akhtar, announced the unanimous decision as it accepted the review petition against the 2022 verdict. The case centers on the apex court’s previous decision that stated votes from lawmakers who oppose their party’s stance would not be counted, a ruling challenged by the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA). Schools closed, metro service suspended as Islamabad sealed ahead of PTI protest

  ISLAMABAD – Authorities have closed all exit and entry points of the federal capital by placing containers as the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced a protest rally at D-Chowk today (Friday). Entry and exit on Motorway M-1 from Islamabad have also been shut down. The entry points to the Red Zone in Islamabad have also been blocked with containers, and routes including Faizabad, Sector I-8, IJ Principal Road, and Margalla Road have also been closed. Murree Road, as well as the Islamabad Expressway, Sangjani, Sector G-11 Chowk, Golra Mor, and 26 Number Chowki are all closed.
